Is a lamp a good gift?

Yes, if it is chosen for a room. A lamp is used every evening, it doesn't need to match anyone's taste in clothes or food, and a good one stays for years. Ours are original designs, each finished and checked by hand in Malaysia. The things to get right are size and power: a small cordless lamp suits almost any home, while a wired lamp needs a socket nearby and a surface to own.

Which lamp for which occasion

Housewarming. A cordless lamp is the safe choice, because you don't need to know where the sockets are. ANGIN, the breeze-block cube, is the one most Malaysians recognise; TERAS is the smallest and easiest to place.

Wedding. A lamp for the shared home, chosen to be kept: SIRIP for a living room, KONTUR as a sculptural centrepiece, or TUDUNG, the woven tudung saji on its brass tray, for the dining table.

Hari Raya and family gatherings. The WARISAN collection is drawn from Malaysian homes: GASING, the cordless spinning top, PAM, the brass pressure lantern, and TUDUNG.

A desk, a graduation or a new job. DIAL, the cordless graphite puck with a dimmer dial, or MATRIX, the dot-matrix cabinet.

Sizes at a glance

DIAL is the lowest lamp and TERAS has the smallest footprint; both suit a desk or a crowded nightstand. The wired lamps are taller, sized for a sideboard, a shelf or a bedside table. Every product page lists exact dimensions.

How early to order

Every lamp is made after you order and ships within 7 days, then add delivery time: see shipping and returns. For a dated occasion, order at least two weeks ahead. Seasonal pages will carry an order-by date for each season.

Gift notes and sending to someone else
